Welcome to the Diabetes Prevention Research Group (DPRG).

We are located at the Centre for Health and Behaviour Change in the Upper Campus Health building on the University of British Columbia Okanagan campus (Kelowna). The DPRG is directed by Dr. Mary Jung, Professor in the School of Health and Exercise Sciences within the Faculty of Health and Social Development.

Our primary research focus is the promotion and maintenance of lifestyle modifications (diet and exercise) for individuals at risk of Type 2 Diabetes. This includes, but is not limited to, research working with children and adults with prediabetes, women who have experienced gestational diabetes, or adults who are sedentary and are overweight or obese.
