Alexandre Santos is a Doctoral student in the School of Health and Exercise Sciences. He completed his Master’s of Arts in Sport Psychology at the University of Ottawa. Following his degree, Alex worked at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario doing research on pediatric eating disorders and obesity.
Alex’s main research interest is on prediabetics’ adherence to physical activity if given the choice between high-intensity interval training (HIIT) or moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT). Alex hopes that with the skills he learns from this degree, he’ll be able to develop his own program for children at risk of developing diabetes.
Alexandre is a trainer in our Small Steps for Big Changes program. For more information please visit https://ok-smallsteps.sites.olt.ubc.ca/
